What ever happened to Condoleezza Rice? You remember her, right? The Secretary of State under President Bush. She was the second black Secretary of State, and the second woman but the first black woman to hold the office. (Sorry, PC police, but I refuse to use the term African-American, unless I’m referring to someone born in Africa, say Kenya, for example, and moved to the United States).
Anyway, what ever happened to her? She dropped off the political landscape faster than Ted Kennedy could go through a fifth of vodka. Two years ago, she was the heir apparent, the future of the party. She had all the makings of a good Republican candidate: she’s smart, conservative, marketable, and Rosie O’Donnell absolutely hates her. Her very existence as a black woman who worked her way to the top and embraced conservative principles was an irritation to the liberal elite.
She lost her chance to be the first black president, but she could still be the first woman and the first person with two e’s and two z’s in her first name to hold the office. That’s still something. I can’t help but wonder if she is quietly putting together a plan for 2012.
What about a Rice /Palin ticket? I hear the former Alaska governor is free these days. Or should it be Palin / Rice? Is there anyone out there doing polling to see how the two of them would pull with women voters? The disenfranchised Hillary fans may jump ship to the Republican Party if they could put together a ticket featuring the Right Wing Femme Fatales. Remember ladies, she’s ‘mildly pro-choice’, which I hear is a popular stance among the middle-ground, undecided voters.
Since I know that the political movers and shakers read my column regularly, I’ll take this moment to offer my services to Madames Rice and Palin as a campaign adviser. I work cheaply, and I couldn’t do any worse than the masterminds behind the McCain campaign. Call me.

Rowe, I didn’t know your little article was actually a question. Also, the word madames is incorrect it is mesdames which is plural for madam. As for you “Madames” which is actually spelled madams, is used for women who run brothels.

Correction: “WITHOUT ” loss of human life
the term “african-american” is incongruous and smacks of gross ignorance (a throwback to the years of slavery and colonialism) or of gross disregard for Africans, or both (and I am inclined to believe that it is the last). Who has ever heard of people being referred to as “European-Americans”? I only blame Africans for this state of affairs. Our leaders always pander to the whims of the West and want the West to pay even for toilet rolls! Thumbs up for Colin Powell, Condo Rice and Barack Obama, and all the others who blaze the trail in such societies!
She was part of the Bush administration. That spells career death, at least in the political arena.
