Tea Party Infiltrators

Maybe the Tea Party is a greater threat to the Democratic Party than I thought it was. Or maybe the Democrats are as smart as I thought they were (which, honestly, wasn’t all THAT smart).  Maybe it’s a little bit of both.  In any case, the Left is continuing its war on the Tea Party with unabashed ruthlessness.

You know about the TV newscasters openly mocking the Tea Baggers with crude sexual innuendo.  You’ve heard about the coffee party, a seemingly innocuous organization with the real agenda of discrediting and delegitimizing the Tea Party.  Now we’ve got Left-wingers infiltrating the Tea Party rallies with faux-slogans of the most outrageously racist and angry sentiments they can think of.

My personal favorite is “Poor People Suck” as if it is the rich upper crust out there demonstrating against higher taxes.  Not being rich I don’t know for certain, but I’m pretty sure that rich people protest against high taxes by finding tax shelters and moving their money to offshore accounts and that sort of thing.  It is the middle class, blue collar type who take to the streets with picket signs.

As a conservative, I find the Tea Party to be problematic because of the potential to split the Right vote between the Republicans and the unofficial (though that may change) Tea Party candidate, handing the election to the Democrat.  But the continued efforts of the Left to discredit these folks make me wonder.  Is the Tea Party stronger than I think, or are the Democrats dumber than I think?  We’ll find out come November.
