Digesting Weiner’s Weiner OR Much Ado About Netherrod

by Jason Lightner June 10th, 2011 | Congress, Independent Ideas, Political Humor, Political Opinions
We've got a bit of a discussion going on here at Camp Campaign over "Obama, post-Osama" and while I've got my own words to inject into the conversation, I'm going to hold off on them for another week. I've got something more disturbing to discuss this week.

What I'm referring to is this perverse and unwarranted media and societal fascination over a "scandal" that involved Democratic representative of New York, Anthony Weiner and his Twitter account. Let's get the pleasantries out of the way, shall we? At some time on May 27th, a picture of some dude's neatly

Thanksgiving Week Roundup

by Ronald A. Rowe December 1st, 2009 | Congress, General Politics, Political Humor, Political Opinions
Thanksgiving is the time we set aside each year to give thanks for the many blessings in our lives. Here at Camp Campaign, we thought it might be a good idea to list those things related to politics for which we are thankful this year.

I'm thankful for Michaele and Tareq Salahi, the reality show wannabes who crashed a state dinner at the White House this week. Without there well-publicized party crash and subsequent attempts to sell their story for hundreds of thousands of dollars, we wouldn't know how lame the security around our president is, how desperate people

The Nobel Prize

by Ronald A. Rowe October 13th, 2009 | General Politics, Political Humor, Political Opinions
Camp Campaign has procured an exclusive transcript of the deliberations between Hans Dorfenshalter and Heinrich Waldendoof, two members of the Nobel Prize selection committee. This conversation, secretly recorded and painstakingly transcribed, details some of the heretofore unknown thought process that goes into selecting an individual for the prestigious Nobel Prize.

HANS: Heinrich, are you enjoying the illegal drugs and prostitutes that were provided for us?

HEINRICH: Oh, yes, Hans. I am.

HANS: I was thinking, our all-expense paid week in the hotel is almost up, so maybe we'd better pick a winner for the Peace Prize.

HEINRICH: Oh, yeah. I

To Israel from the US

by Ronald A. Rowe June 9th, 2009 | General Politics, Political Humor, Political Opinions
Dear Israel,
Hi. It’s me, your old pal the United States. We’ve been friends for a long time. In fact, I remember the day you first became a country. I’ve seen you grow up. I was so proud the day I saw you quell your first insurgency. It’s hard for me to believe that you’re over sixty years old already.
But now, well, I’ve got a new president, and I’m doing things a little differently. I don’t know how else to say this, but I no longer have your back. We’re still friends and all, but I’m trying to also be friends

Tax Day in Bizarro World

by Ronald A. Rowe April 28th, 2009 | Political Opinions
Well, the April 15th tea parties came and went. Depending on whom you ask, they were either a) a rousing success that demonstrated the level of frustration common to most middle class working Americans or b) or a few isolated conservative crack-pots huddled together and being just plain contrary.

ACORN, the delightfully non-partisan organization solely devoted to community organization and NOTHING ELSE, tried desperately to disrupt the tax-day community organizations by dismissing them as right-wing crybabies. Across the board the talking heads on TV, who usually love any sort of protest aimed at the US Government, spent three days
