Wooly Bully

by Eric M. Blake May 14th, 2012 | Conservative Considerations, Presidential Election, Republican Reflections
What a week.  Joe Biden gives a gaffe, which threatens to derail the schedule of the Obama campaign’s agenda.  Yes, I know … what else is new?  I mean, really — how on Earth has this guy kept his office for so long?  With all the crazy blunder’s he’s made — even before the ’08 election — what the heck were they thinking?

You know, I get such a kick out of all the pundits — and fellow college students! — who swear with a straight face that Joe Biden is actually “very smart.”  See … unlike Sarah Palin and

Come Together, Right Now…

by Eric M. Blake April 16th, 2012 | Conservative Considerations, Presidential Election, Republican Reflections
Faithful readers of Camp Campaign are probably wondering how I feel.  After all…out of the final four, Rick Santorum was my guy.  And now, he’s out.

To be honest … I can’t say I feel that bad.  I wish he’d  done a lot better.  Heck — I wish all that lynching of Herman Cain hadn’t happened, and that he’d ridden high, clinched the nomination, beaten the heck out of President Obama on his own turf — racial minorities — and brought some good old 9-9-9 to our nation’s economy.  Alas … you can’t always get what you want.

Besides … all

Andrew Breitbart: A Tribute

by Eric M. Blake March 5th, 2012 | Conservative Considerations, Republican Reflections
It is with great sadness that I write this.  This week, the entire Conservative movement is in mourning, for the loss of one of its modern icons — the man who helped inspire a new generation of Conservatives (like me) to take a stand, and fight for the greatness of our country.

On Thursday, May 1, 2012, Andrew Breitbart collapsed while walking outside his house, dying of a heart attack at age 43.  People who’d talked to him the night before were shocked, noting that he’d seemed perfectly fine.

Andrew will be remembered by different people for different things.  Internet legend

Rick Santorum and the Culture War

by Eric M. Blake February 27th, 2012 | Conservative Considerations, General Politics, Republican Reflections
I’ve been reading all the bashing of Rick Santorum on social issues lately, and it’s been pretty hilarious:  “Santorum’s a radical Christian who opposes fundamental freedoms in the United States and elsewhere!”  “Santorum’s number-one priority is what we’re looking at on a computer screen!”  “Santorum thinks that God needs to be in everyone’s business 24/7!”  “Santorum wants to undo all the progress we’ve made since the '50s!”  “Santorum wants to appoint an Attorney General to make sure that federal obscenity laws are enforced—”

Um…why shouldn’t laws be enforced?  Isn’t that the Constitutional point of a president—to “take Care that the Laws be

More on Ron Paul and the “Revolution”

by Eric M. Blake February 20th, 2012 | Conservative Considerations, General Politics, Republican Reflections
In a January article, I stated a few arguments for why Ron Paul is not as electable as his supporters would like.  Needless to say, I’ve gotten a great deal of grief for that — it's been  over a month, and the comments section continues to fill with vitriol from “Revolutionaries”.

Now — I should be absolutely clear: by “Revolutionaries”, I do not mean the average Ron Paul supporter. You want to support Ron Paul?  More power to you.  The people I refer to are the militants — the ones who engage in the antics of “seminar callers”, and
