Why I Believe in Big Government More Than Big Business

by Jessica B. April 24th, 2012 | Political Opinions
These days everyone on the right and even some to the left are calling to cut down the size of the government,  cut taxes and give people the right to "decide over themselves." As someone who believes strongly in the importance of having a large, well-running government, here are the reasons I believe big is better than small, and why I trust my politicians more than my big businessmen.

1) I want to live in a society that believes everyone has a value – I believe there are certain things that should be available to everyone in my society. Firefighters,

by Ronald A. Rowe April 18th, 2012 | Political Opinions, Presidential Election, Winners & Losers

WINNERS:

Mitt Romney

It isn't officially official, but it's getting pretty close.  Mitt Romney will be the Republican nominee in the fall.  Now, if someone would just get the memo to Rick Santorum we could close the book on an especially ugly primary and move on to the main event.

Pope Benedict XVI

Easter Sunday provides a nice window of relevance for the Pope each year.  Pope Benedict XVI took full advantage of the attention by making

by Jessica B. April 10th, 2012 | Political Opinions
The Health Care Reform act is before the Supreme Court as they decide if the requirement that every American citizen have health insurance is constitutional or goes beyond federal powers. Every news network is portraying this case as one of the most significant ones before the court in years. The supreme court deals with a lot of important cases, but this one act has already started to change the way we view health care, and if this act is thrown out, the question remains – can we change anything?

Health care reform matters -- because I cannot think of anyone
