The Separation of Church and State

by Jessica B. May 7th, 2013 Political Opinions
While many conservatives fight to keep the second amendment as strong as it has ever been, the separation of church and state, or the first amendment which states "that congress should make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" is more open to discussion. Many politicians, including Mike Huckabee, who recently ran for president, call for incorporating the religious mores into government life. Cases against local governments that put up religious symbolism never fail to get a great deal of attention.

These days many see this separation of church and state as something that

The Nightmare Begins with the Obamacare Form

by T Akery April 9th, 2013 Political Opinions
In case you haven't heard of this little tidbit, Obamacare is about to get very up close and personal with you. Very, very personal. The new forms are a 60-page nightmare where everything from income to how you spend your money is very closely scrutinized. But don't worry, there aren't any real health questions. Finally, A Senate Budget

by T Akery March 26th, 2013 Political Opinions
Finally, the Senate has passed a budget. Break out the fanfare, the confetti, the horns, and the celebratory dance because the Senate actually did its job. It only took a little over four whole years to do so. Which makes you wonder what exactly what they were doing for the last four years. It certainly wasn't taking financial responsibility. It certainly wasn't solving the country's problems. It certainly wasn't creating new jobs. In fact, I am starting to wonder exactly what the Senate was doing.

Let's sum up their legislative action these last four years. Hmm ... Obamacare. Yep, that's

Politically Twisted Terms Used By President Obama

by T Akery March 18th, 2013 Political Opinions
Every political campaign has its fair share of vocabulary changes. But President Obama's second term has showcased some very interesting political definition twists. So, here's a look at some of the terms and their meanings or the interpretation of those meanings.

Sequester

Sequester is the new political buzz word for "the sky is falling." According to the administration, it is falling down and they can't do anything to stop it. But this totally ignores a couple of facts. The first fact is that President Obama signed the whole bill into law. It is doubtful that the bill would have actually survived
