Winners, Losers, and Undecided of the Week

by Ronald A. Rowe August 10th, 2011 | Political Humor, Political Opinions, Winners & Losers
Winners:
Vladimir Putin – The Russian Prime Minister is hugely popular in his home country. Now his biggest concern is whether or not to accept a second go around at the presidency or to maintain his current position and let his BFF Dmitry Medvedev hold on to the (technically) top spot. With an approval rating consistently near 70%, Putin can afford to keep his options open.

Foxconn Technology Employees – The 12 year old kids and impoverished grandmas in Taiwan who work for $.08 an hour to make your iPods, iPhones, and iPads have a seriously high rate of suicide –

Ups and Downs for the Week Ending July 30

by Ronald A. Rowe August 3rd, 2011 | Political Humor, Political Opinions, Winners & Losers
There are ups and downs every week in the world of politics. Here's a quick snapshot of who's up and who's down this time around.

Winners:
Apple - It was widely reported this week that Apple Computers has $76.2 Billion in cash and cash equivalents while the United States Treasury (pictured) has just $73.8 Billion cash on hand. When you've got more money than the U.S. Government, you're doing all right. Or the U.S. Government is doing really, really bad. Let's be optimistic and say that Apple is doing well.

Hugo Chavez - Venezuela's president turned 57 this week and vowed to

Winners and Losers of the Week Ending July 10

by Ronald A. Rowe July 12th, 2011 | Congress, Political Humor, Political Opinions, Winners & Losers

Without further exposition, here are the biggest winners and losers from the world of politics this week.

Winners:
Boneheaded Politicians - This was a good week to be a typical bonehead in politics. With 23.75 hours a day devoted to coverage of the Casey Anthony trial, politicians could get away with anything short of shooting up a McDonald’s with a machine gun this week.

The Ups and Downs of Politics

by Ronald A. Rowe July 5th, 2011 | General Politics, Political Humor, Political Opinions, Winners & Losers
It’s time once again to look at the winners and losers in the world of politics this week. Who rose to the top like cream and who fell to the bottom like… the part that isn’t cream?

Losers:
Rod Blagojevich – Two is not Blago’s lucky number. His second trial ended with him becoming the second former Illinois Governor in the last 5 years to be convicted and imprisoned. Maybe he and fellow disgraced former Governor George Ryan can share a cell.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer – Dyer’s decision to lump humanitarians handing out food to the homeless –

RNC vs DNC

by Ronald A. Rowe June 28th, 2011 | Political Humor, Political Opinions, Presidential News
President Barack Obama gave a speech to the DNC the other night that was, according to the official White House transcript, interrupted 12 times by applause or laughter. I got to thinking how different it would have been if he gave the same speech to the RNC.
Words in quotes “” are the president’s actual comments. Words in parenthesis () are the White House’s official interpretation of the crowd’s reaction. Words in brackets [] are what I think would happen if he gave the same speech to the RNC. Words in fancy brackets {} are my
