Fox News: Fair and Loathing

August 23rd, 2010 by Jason Lightner
By now it's no secret that Fox News parent News Corporation had donated $1 million to the Republican Governor's Association in June. You wouldn't know it by reading the Fox wikipedia entry, however, as the blurb about it has allegedly been removed by Fox's "scrubbers."

According to Daily KOS:
"On the Fox News main page, someone put this inocuous little statement, heavily referenced, under the controversy section:

'In June 2010, News Corporation donated $1 million to the Republican Governors Association'

... Two FNC scrubbers were on the case and according to the history page

Can They Take a Nobel Prize Back?

July 5th, 2010 by Ronald A. Rowe
It isn’t easy saving the world. Sometimes, you have to make tough choices. Let’s say, for example, that you are on a mission to single handedly save the world from the global warming caused by former President George Bush. Sure, you’ll win a Nobel Prize for making a movie of yourself standing in front of an easel displaying factually-inaccurate slides. That’s good. And you’ll make hundreds of millions of dollars selling nonsensical “Carbon Offset Credits” to corporations willing to buy goodwill with the environmental crowd while continuing to pollute just as much as before. That’s pretty nice, too.

Maybe the Tea Party is a greater threat to the Democratic Party than I thought it was. Or maybe the Democrats are as smart as I thought they were (which, honestly, wasn't all THAT smart).  Maybe it's a little bit of both.  In any case, the Left is continuing its war on the Tea Party with unabashed ruthlessness.

You know about the TV newscasters openly mocking the Tea Baggers with crude sexual innuendo.  You've heard about the coffee party, a seemingly innocuous organization with the real agenda of discrediting and delegitimizing the Tea Party.  Now

The Ex Green Czar

September 10th, 2009 by Ronald A. Rowe
Van Jones is now officially the "Ex-Green Czar" of the United States of America. Jones resigned today in what may be the snippiest and most ungracious resignation speech ever given.

The White House says that Jones was going to "get in the way" of Benevolent Ruler Obama's plans. Jones says that he was the target of a "vicious smear campaign". So, why did ol' Van get the ax?

The short answer is: the Internet.

The somewhat longer answer is that Jones has a long history of doing the sort of things that most American's don't much like, and somebody uncovered

A Dog of a Different Color

July 28th, 2009 by Ronald A. Rowe
Back in the day, John McCain was the darling of the national media. The main stream news-types wrote no end of stories, lauding McCain as a “maverick” because he broke with his party on a number of issues. The media mainly loved writing these stories because they made President Bush look like a bad leader.

McCain has long since fallen out of favor with the media when he challenged the Wise and Benevolent Obama for the presidency, to which Obama clearly was entitled without the annoyance of a challenger. The “maverick” was suddenly the old, bedraggled, racist conservative
