The Debate, the Speech, and the Non-Rebuttal

by Ronald A. Rowe September 14th, 2011 | General Politics, Political Opinions, Winners & Losers
Who was the big Winner in the Republican debate this week?
Mitt Romney (pictured) did very well, as most observers expected. He seems to skirt a fine line between being above the fray and coming across as just plain arrogant. I think he nailed it Wednesday night, appearing as an elder statesman among squabbling political wannabes.

But the real winner of the Republican Debate, the biggest victor of the night had to be MSNBC. Not only was it the only program on the network that was watched by more than 7 people last week, the debate brought in an entirely new

Who’s Riding High This Week

by Ronald A. Rowe August 31st, 2011 | General Politics, Political Opinions, Winners & Losers
Winners:
Arnold Schwarzenegger – His political career and his marriage are over, but with the release of the Conan the Barbarian remake this week at least he is no longer the worst Conan to ever appear on the big screen.

Ron Paul - The mainstream media has gone gaga over Ron Paul in recent weeks with a favor that haven't shown any Republican since John McCain's pre-candidate maverick days.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer – Dyer’s decision to lump humanitarians handing out food to the homeless –

A peek at the winners and losers in the world of politics this week:

WINNERS

Jerry Brown

Bravo to California Governor Jerry Brown for standing up to his own party.  The Democratic controlled State Legislature sent him a bill that, according to Brown, "contains legally questionable maneuvers, costly borrowing and unrealistic savings."  The bill contained exactly the sort of financial chicanery that Brown had vowed to keep out of the budget, and Brown had little choice but to veto if he wanted to retain any credibility.

Chris Harris

Texas State Senator Chris Harris has become both hero and villain this week for his widely-publicized

The Worst People of All Time

by Ronald A. Rowe June 7th, 2011 | General Politics, Political Opinions, Republican Reflections
The liberal indoctrination of our youth continues. It has, of course, been going on for half a century now. It started out naturally enough as an extension of the philosophical views of the education community leaking through in their classroom presentations. When that went unchallenged, the efforts stepped up more and more, incrementally becoming the steamroller of single-mindedness that it is today.

You will remember the classrooms in which children were taught, and made to sing, songs extolling the virtues of the newly-elected Barrack Hussein Obama a few years ago. It was so eerily reminiscent of a scene from a
