The Relativism of Terrorism or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Peace

by Jason Lightner December 27th, 2010 Independent Ideas, Political Humor, Political Opinions
Before we begin this little bit of commentary, I'd ask that you read this short comic from Tree Lobsters, upon which the commentary is based.

All done? Good. Now on with the show...

The idea of terrorism is an interesting one. Nowadays the word is thrown around so much it has lost meaning. To clarify, we will look to Mirriam-Webster.

Terrorism (ter·ror·ism noun \ˈter-ər-ˌi-zəm\): the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion

Although Candidate Obama promised an end to

Fascism (fas·cism) courtesy of Mirriam Webster:
often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

From what has been going on in our Government and in our media, the only logical conclusion is that our Democratic Rebublic is no more. It has been replaced with a corporation-run, authoritarian regime with interests in the military industrial complex, lining its pockets, and nothing more.
