After Obama's latest "faux pas", the blogosphere has been in a tizzy over whether or not it is all right to talk about the working class when you are about to be fighting a primary in a primarily working class state.
There are those in the blogosphere who think that allowing himself to speak without thinking was bad PR and that you don't alienate the people you want to win over. While there is certainly logic in the "don't insult the guy you want to hire you" argument, you also have to wonder if bowing to PR isn't one

Last Sunday at a fundraiser in San Francisco, Senator Barack Obama privately made some comments voicing his trouble with winning over the working class voters who have become frustrated with economic conditions. He said, "It's not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
Needless to say, nothing said aloud is really private, so by the following Friday his comments were posted on the Huffington Post political Website. And naturally the post set off a

"Former presidential candidate John Edwards announced this week he will not accept the nomination for vice president, to which the cashier at Wendy's said, "Do you want a Frosty with this?"

"In case you forgot, taxes are due next week. You know, we all hate paying taxes but the truth of the matter is without our tax money, many politicians would not be able to afford prostitutes."

Rumors abound that Condoleezza Rice might be a viable vice presidential candidate for the Republican ticket. Wouldn't that make for an interesting general election?
The rumors started after she spent some time talking at a closed-door conservative brainstorming session. Apparently, she went in and talked about her childhood and upbringing and about what she stands for now. According to an article by the LA Times, she described herself as "mildly pro-choice." (Side note: Can you be "mildly" pro-choice?)

I was just checking the Sunday morning news, and John McCain made a comment that he believes that the old Red State/Blue State thing is not going to apply this election and that he thinks even California is up for grabs. I think an election where unusual things happen is actually good for our country. We need to have a shake up. An election where people vote out of the norm. Hispanics voting for Republicans. Southern Baptists who vote for Democrats. I want to gain confidence back in the American public that
